Project Dandelion is the restoration of a Xerox Star 8010 (Dandelion) machine I have into working condition.
Project Status
- A detailed Work Log is being kept as I work on this project.
- Cosmetic: Basic cleanup work done, loose foam vacuumed out. Much work still to be done.
- Documentation: Not started.
- Power Supply: Not started.
- Fans: Not started.
- Backplane/Cabling: Not started.
- Maintenance Panel/RTC/etc.: Not started.
- Central Processor Board: Not started.
- Memory Control Board: Not started.
- Storage Board: Not started.
- Display Board: Not started.
- Low Speed I/O Board: Not started.
- Raven/Ethernet Board: Not started.
- Monitor: Not started.
- Keyboard: Not started.
- Flexible Disk: Not started.
- Rigid Disk: Not started.
- Full bootup: Not started.
Cosmetic
- Exterior case in good condition, interior has some rust damage and mice have stolen bits of foam/paper to make a nest elsewhere.
- Loose/crumbling foam vacuumed out.
- Next step is to clean out loose bits of paper and cobwebs that can be accessed without removing any wires/boards.
Documentation
- Will be started once basic cosmetic cleaning is done of the chassis itself.
